Yesterday afternoon Pope Franciscus opened yesterday at Sala Nervi in Vatican City a conference «Sport at the Service of Humanity», together with the Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach, the Anglican Primate Justin Welby, representatives of the Orthodox patriarchates of Constantinople and Moscow, Jewish and Muslim leaders, as well as numerous sports, including Olympic champions.
To enriching the ceremony two musical performances by pianist Lang Lang and soprano Carmen Giannattasio.
The Italian soprano wore a black silk dress from Antonio Riva and was adorned by wonderful Bulgari necklace and earrings in white gold and diamonds.
