Jewellery maisons love opera – Le maisons della gioielleria amano l’opera

Many have been the social events taking place this month, but Lady Maxwell would like to speak about two of them sharing a common detail – the interest that some of the most important jewellery maisons are showing for opera and its protagonists. The first event was the Semperopern Ball held in Dresden on February 7th. The most important German social event was attended by the young diva Sonya Yoncheva, who was much applauded during the performance of “Air des bijoux” from Gounod’s “Faust”. Her presence was made glittering and glamorous by three beautiful and expensive necklaces by the Swiss brand Chopard. One of them – a necklace made of white gold and diamonds with a delicate flower-shaped pendant – completed the soprano’s white strapless dress, featuring an A-line cut and embroidered bodice with a black floral decoration and beaded inserts, completed by a jewelled black belt with multicolour crystals.

Fra gli appuntamenti mondani di questo mese, Lady Maxwell ne segnala due che sono accumunati da un elemento: l’interesse di alcune fra le più importanti maisons della gioielleria per l’opera lirica e le sue protagoniste.  Primo appuntamento, il Semperopern Ball tenutosi a Dresda il 7 febbraio. Al più importante evento mondano della Germania è stata invitata la giovane diva Sonya  Yoncheva la quale è stata particolarmente apprezzata ed applaudita durante l'”Air des bijoux” tratta dal “Faust” di Gounod.  A rendere scintillante e glamour l’esibizione del soprano bulgaro è stata la presenza di tre splendidi e costosissimi collier firmati dalla maison svizzera Chopard. Uno di questi – una collana in oro bianco e diamanti con pendente maxi a forma di delicato e colorato fiore – ha completato la mise del soprano caratterizzata da un abito bianco senza spalline, taglio A-line e corpetto ricamato con un decoro floreale nero, illuminato da inserti di perline.  In vita, una cintura-gioiello nera con applicazioni di cristalli colorati.

 The second event was the reopening of the Van Cleef and Arpels boutique in Orange County, California. Special guest was the Australian soprano Danielle De Niese, who has been wearing jewellery by the French brand since 2009; she livened up the evening with a short performance. The soprano wore a strapless column dress, made of a white fabric embellished with black floral and geometric embroideries. Her jewellery was particularly lavish: she wore a necklace, bracelet and ring from the collection “Ile de la Cite”, made of diamonds and white gold.   That’s the way to shine!

Secondo appuntamento, la riapertura della boutique Van Cleef and Arpels ad Orange County in California. Ospite speciale della serata, il soprano australiano Danielle De Niese (che indossa gioielli della maison francese già dal 2009) la quale ha allietato l’atmosfera della cena con una breve performance. Il soprano ha indossato un abito dalla linea dritta, molto accostata al corpo, senza spalline cosi da lasciare spalle e schiena nude. Ricercato il tessuto: su fondo bianco si staglia un ricamo nero con motivi floreali racchiusi in elementi geometrici. Suntuosa, ovviamente, la parure indossata dalla cantante: collana bracciale anello ed orecchini della collezione “Ile de la Citè”, in diamanti e oro bianco.

Come far risplendere maggiormente la bellezza del canto!
