Period of hard work in Europe for Pretty Yende! The South-African soprano is busy with a series of concerts in several European capitals, after which she will interpret Fiorilla in Gioacchino Rossini’s “Turco in Italia” at the Hamburg State Opera. She performed at the Smetana Concert Hall in Prague with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra: the programme included excerpts from works of Meyerbeer, Donizetti, Bellini and Bernstein. The first dress she wore was made of sapphire blue silk duchesse, featuring a strapless structured bodice embellished with a pleated and sequined motif; the skirt was slightly flared.
Periodo d’intenso lavoro in Europa per Pretty Yende! Il soprano sudafricano è impegnata in una serie di concerti in varie capitali europee prima di interpretare Fiorilla nel “Turco in Italia” di G. Rossini all’Hamburg State Opera. Alla Smetana Concert Hall di Praga, accompagnata della Czech Philarmonic Orchestra, Pretty ha tenuto un apprezzatissimo concerto proponendo brani tratti da lavori di Meyerbeer, Donizetti, Bellini ma anche di Bernstein. Il primo abito indossato, in duchesse di seta color blu zaffiro, è senza spalline con corpetto strutturato caratterizzato – nella parte superiore – da un gioco di tessuto pieghettato e ricamo in paillettes e perline ton sur ton. La gonna ha una morbida linea leggermente svasata.
For the second part of the concert the soprano chose to emphasize her beautiful and emotional voice with a 1950s-style dress, featuring a mid-calf full skirt in black silk shantung; the jewelled bodice was made of black tulle embroidered with floral motifs and sequin inserts, which created a peek-a-boo effect. She didn’t wear any jewellery to complete the outfits; she opted for a pair of platform shoes with stiletto heels and diamanté details, a perfect glamourous touch!
Nella seconda parte del concerto, il soprano ha scelto di esaltare ulteriormente la sua bella ed emozionale voce con un abito che richiama alla mente la moda anni ’50 per la presenza di un’ampia gonna a ruota – lunga fino a metà polpaccio – in shantung di seta nera. Il corpetto-gioiello, invece, aderente alla figura, è realizzato in tulle nero ricamato a motivi floreali con inserti di paillettes; esso, indossato a pelle, crea un sottile gioco di vedo-non vedo. A completare niente gioielli ma un paio di scarpe con alto plateau, tacco a stiletto e tocchi di strass, perfette per aggiungere slancio alle due mise!
