New Year’s Concerts: Carmen Giannattasio at Teatro La Fenice (part 2) – Concerti di Capodanno: Carmen Giannattasio al Teatro La Fenice (2 parte)

The second part of the New Year’s concert in Venice was devoted to “La Traviata” by G. Verdi. The diva wore a powder beige and gold outfit. Her super-chic dress was designed by Antonio Riva: it was ivory with a lace overlay in a matching shade; it had a mermaid line, with the skirt made of tulle opening up in full circle and a small train. The upper part of the bodice was made of lace, too; the lace design emphasized the waist line. The jewellery by Grazia Fortuna Ward echoed the floral design of the lace: gold peonies were featured on a tiara and bracelets. Carmen’s hair and make-up were curated by Mariano Sabatelli, who took inspiration from 1930s cinema stars; as a matter of fact, everything – the elegance of the dresses, the soprano’s attitude, her platinum blonde hair, her porcelain complexion and magnetic look – were reminiscent of Jean Harlow.
